Life is Good!
Life is Good!
Yesterday, I picked up my friend Craig from the train station (he was in San Diego visiting his dad first) and we went to Disneyland together. We had such a wonderful time at Disneyland. I can't remember the last time I had that much fun there, in spite of the fact that there was no way we could get on Finding Nemo (not interested in waiting well over an hour, I'll wait for a couple years and ride it then) and that neither of us was all that impressed with the changes in Space Mountain or the fireworks show I'd heard so much about (which apparently were nothing like normal, since there was too much wind).

It was just wonderful to relax with a good friend and hang out. It seems like it had been a while since I'd done that. Given the events of late, with the pending divorce and move and everything in my life seeming to be pretty crazy, there was nothing I needed more than a break from that with a great friend. Craig's timing was wonderful!

If you're dining at the ESPN Zone, ask for Alexis - she was wonderful and a lot of fun. The best waitress I've had there in a long time. The menus had changed again (or perhaps they just have a slightly different menu than the ESPN Zone in Las Vegas)... Fortunately, this time it doesn't seem like they removed anything I liked too much. I still wish they'd bring back the chicken Caesar sandwich - I miss that one.

I also got to see my friend Julianna (briefly) at the gallery. She was very busy with an event they had there that day, but hopefully we can get together soon to really catch up.

Disneyland was crowded, but the lines for most rides weren't too insane and Craig and I had a lot to talk about, as always, so the time went pretty quickly. We've both been to Disneyland enough that it's not like we had to get to everything in one day. We just had fun and enjoyed ourselves.

I would like to go back to check out the fireworks show when it's done right. The wind messed things up (and they almost had to cancel it), but everyone says it's the most amazing fireworks show they've done and it didn't strike me that way. I liked the original Believe (not the holiday show) better, though what they did with the castle this time was cool. Since most of the fireworks were not over the castle (as I hear they're supposed to be), I think that had a big impact on it. I hope to see it again without the high winds so I can experience the full effect.

Strange how I hadn't seen him since last October and will now see him three months in a row, since I'm visiting him in New York this coming weekend (I take the red eye out Thursday night) and will see him in New York in September.

This coming weekend in New York will be wonderful. I'll get to hang out with friends (James is meeting up with me and we'll get to see Kenny for Rent and hopefully some other time on Saturday or Friday) and I get to see Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal in the roles of Mark & Roger in my favorite musical, Rent. We have great seats in center orchestra and I can't wait! It's going to be an amazing weekend with friends in my favorite US city and my favorite musical - what more could I ask for in life?
