Heat Wave
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm ready for the southern CA heat wave to end. At home it's fine and anywhere else we go on the weekends. However, the down side of working for the government (yes, I've found it) is that we have to follow the governor's suggestion of setting the thermostat to 82 degrees. Now, I'm not wimp and 82 degrees isn't that hot. However, I'm in an old building and the A/C doesn't really work. Because of this, our office has always been hotter and more humid than it should be and it's the humidity that's making it bad. Plus, who knows how hot it is in here - with the thermostat not working that well in the first place... I thought I was hot last week, but it's hot now that the governor has set a new limit on A/C.

Our bathroom is coming along. We actually got the cabinets installed on Monday and they're beautiful. There are a couple minor issues, but none of it means having to send the cabinet covers back to the manufacturer or anything, so it can all be handled by the shop.

Yesterday, we found out that the bozo (Dan) we were working with ordered us the wrong kind of sink. Fortunately, since we're going to have a corian counter top with corian sinks, it's not an issue. They changed them to the normal sink size (Dan had put down that we wanted the smaller ones - why?!?!?) and everything will be taken care of by the people who make the corian countertop & sink piece. Of course, Dan messing up yet again didn't surprise me, but David's already talked to the owner of the company (on many occasions) and if we ever use Reborn Cabinets again, we will NOT be working with Dan. It looks like we might consider them for our kitchen and bath, though, since the owner of the company has been very helpful. I guess we'll see when that time comes.

Last night, David was saying no more projects again, but by today he's probably already working on the theatre room or some other project in his head - I know him. I'm looking forward to seeing the built-in cabinets upstairs, too. The house is really coming together nicely!
