What a month!
I can't even begin to describe everything that's been going on...
The guys replacing the furnace (which was red-tagged) in the condo we're trying to sell (affectionately called the condo from hell by many at this point) broke the main fire sprinkler line, so escrow is in a frozen state at this point. The carpet has been torn out, some drywall has been ripped out, so much needs to be done there. The good part is that we were no longer living there, so nothing we own (other than the condo) was destroyed, and that can all be fixed. The buyer says she's still interested, so hopefully it will all work out in the end. She saw the condo soon after the mess happened, since she lives in the same complex. Still, a headache and a half for David, who is dealing with all of it...
The house construction sometimes seems like it will never end. The wall has been torn down in the bonus room, so we have a HUGE bonus room now (totally empty, of course) and we've built the wall in our bedroom. The chair rail and other molding is mostly complete in our house (perhaps totally complete, David has to talk to the main guy, since they installed the chair rail in the guest room in the wrong place). It all looks great, but has to be painted now... We've picked out the paint for our bonus room and the wallpaper for our bedroom and the kitchen, but the trim has to be done first and that's a huge task in itself, with so many doors. I'm looking forward to having everything painted, since we'll get the new doorknobs at the same time and the new carpet not long after (it'll be so great to have nice carpet again!). All very exciting, but very time-consuming, especially for David who is dealing with most of it to oversee the projects. I just have to be as supportive as I can, since there's really not much else I can do.
Wedding plans are going wonderfully. We signed the contract with our florist who we LOVE! The website isn't much, but if you need someone for wedding or party flowers in the Orange County area, check out Sunset Weddings, talk to one of the Jens! Just amazing and great prices. I picked out my wedding ring and David has narrowed down his choices, so that's very exciting, too. I get to try on my wedding dress tomorrow for the first time. It wasn't supposed to get here till June, but it's early. So exciting! Actual fittings with the alterations department will be a couple months before the wedding, but it will be so exciting to actually see MY dress and not a sample.
I guess that's enough rambling for now...
